Cannibalism might sound scary and bad. But there is a long history of human being eating each other. It's thought neanderthals might have eaten each other, and that that was a leading factor in the decline of their population. But in this video we look at more recent incidents. Spanish explorers in the new world told many tales of cannibalism on part of the natives they encountered. But it's hard to judge the legitimacy of such claims. The 19th century was an especially interesting period for such reports - with British colonials being massacred by native Maori tribes in New Zealand and other parts of the world. But history would soon prove British sailors could often commit similar acts themselves.
