FAU WALL-BOT 7 2017 Spring Senior Design Project

Designed by FAU Team Members: Dante Di Pasqua, Trent Ksionek, Bryant Vasquez, and Osei Wilks Wall-Bot 7 was created to analyze structural surfaces to help eliminate human risk. Setting this design apart from any others is its unique ability to traverse multiple surfaces. This robot utilizes an impeller motor to create the suction required to stabilize itself on the wall. Four independent motors will drive each wheel independently, while utilizing a skid steer method of turning, all remotely controlled by the user. Equipped with an onboard camera, Wall-Bot 7 will identify cracks, corrosion, or any other deformations in a structure’s surface. Additionally, a live feed can be sent directly to the user’s laptop for analysis. If suction to the wall is lost, Wall-Bot 7’s sensors will immediately detect falling and deploy it’s airbags to facilitate minimal damage upon impact. The brains of this robot are an Arduino micro-controller.
