Did you know one in five people are at risk for vision loss and preventive care can address many of the problems? Think About Your Eyes is a campaign from the Foundation For Eye Heath Awareness to increase awareness about vision health and the importance of yearly, comprehensive eye exams. For the next five Thursdays we'll be talking about Think About Your Eyes and sharing their educational eye care messages. Don't think vision loss is an issue? Over 30 million Americans have a visual impairment that affects their quality of life. At an eye exam, your eye doctor can prescribe solutions to help you see more clearly. You don't have time once or twice a year to make sure you keep your perfect vision (or correct your bad vision)? Think About Your Eyes can help you find an eye care provider in your area. About 80% of what we learn is through our eyes, yet one study shows a whopping 85% of America's pre-schoolers haven't received a vision exam by age five. As children get older they get vision screenings in school, but those screenings often aren't enough to detect vision problems. Adults aren't in the clear either, as we age, we're more susceptible to cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration.
