BOSNIA: RENEWED SNIPER FIRE IN SARAJEVO

Natural Sound The people of Sarajevo were running for their lives again Monday as the city came under renewed sniper fire. Authorities have erected sniper screens at city intersections , while United Nations peacekeepers are regularly using their armoured vehicles to shield vulnerable civilians. But there are no guarantees of safety. Lurking and lethal ... the snipers of Sarajevo inflict indiscriminate terror on the citizens of the besieged Bosnian capital. Repeated threats from the UN has failed to prevent random shooting at people, who must still leave the relative safety of their homes to get food and water. And for all the efforts of city authorities and the United Nations, sometimes it's only luck that keeps them alive.
