I swear they sit there at a whiteboard and go "How can we make this music insanely complicated to perform on guitar?" But I promise I'm not complaining! It's always a pleasure and a challenge to learn these crazy Pokeshreds. They're so unique and different every time. This time around we hit up Black and White 2's Rival battle theme. The original's bpm is actually faster than this but I found that with it a few bpm slower, it can groove way harder with some sweet riffs and metal drums. I took a lot of liberties with the rhythm guitars and turned into what reminds me of an old school Megadeth style track. It does follow the original bass line pretty accurately but I just threw in some riffage in between key elements to give it a sweet metal groove. The leads were spastic and crazy, I tried to follow the original as much as I could which means that there are a lot of call and response sections with the center lead and the lead harmonies. I apologize for the video switching shots every 0.5 seconds because of this haha! I also had the pleasure of having my friend Eloy (Elrox) on this track! I got to hang with him for a few weeks when I was touring with my band Singularity and he was playing guitar in a band called Vale of Pnath. He also has a band called Flub that's really sick. He told me that he does video game covers as well so we've been talking a lot and became great friends ever since the tour! I hope you guys check him out and enjoy his stuff! I'm really happy with how this turned out. Pokemon jams are always so challenging and rewarding. I hope you guys enjoy it!
