Mannerheimin Linjalla - Finnish Winter War Song

●▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬-ஜ۩✠۩ஜ-▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬● Mannerheimin Linjalla is a wartime song about the famous Mannerheim defensive line on the Karelian Isthmus, of course named after the legendary Baron and Marshall of Finland, Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim. The "Hakkapeliittas" mentioned in the song are a famous Finnish Light Cavlary that served with the Swedes in the Thirty Years War. The Lotta's mentioned are girls of the "Lotta Svärd", a auxillary/logistical paramilitary force that was formed in 1918 during the Finnish Civil War. The Lottas were known particularly for their charity/ volunteer social work during the 20's and 30's, but during the Second World War, became a important auxillary force of the Finnish Military, working in hospitals and foward air raid spotting positions.
